About REPREVE®

REPREVE® is the world’s leading brand of recycled performance fiber. Made from plastic bottles, it is the certifiable, traceable, version of recycled polyester.

The Process

01. SOURCE RECYCLED WASTE

Recycled bottles and post-industrial waste (including our own) are collected worldwide.

02. CLEAN & FLAKE

Waste material is chopped, ground, washed, and turned into flake to remove contaminants.

03. Make the resin

Waste flake is melted and reformulated into high-quality REPREVE® resin.

04. FORM THE FIBRE

Resin is melted into liquid polymer and extruded to form fiber. From there, it is spun and air-jet textured into yarn.

Synthetic fibres such as Lycra, polyester and nylon release microfibres when put into a washing machine. For this reason we always recommend using a microplastic wash bag.

REPREVE® is recycled so it has a positive impact on the earth, however being a synthetic it still releases microfibres. We're working on adding microfibre wash bag to our range but in the meantime, we love the one from Guppy Friend!
