About Linen

Linen, derived from the flax plant, is a natural and biodegradable fibre which we consider to be sustainable. Its cultivation takes far fewer resources compared to cotton or polyester. Flax thrives in poor soil, even rehabilitating polluted areas, and boasts high carbon absorption. This resilience makes linen a great choice and one of our favourite materials.

Flax uses 13 times less pesticides than potatoes, but is only approximately 1% of the world’s apparel fibre consumption.

BENEFITS

CO2 Absorption

1 hectare of flax absorbs more than 3.7 metric tons of CO2

LESS WATER USE

Linen requires roughly 60% less water compared to cotton

BIODEGRADABLE

When untreated, or treated with biodegradable dyes, linen is completely biodegradable.

04. REIMAGINE

Fashion brands and carpet producers use ECONYL® regenerated nylon to create brand new products. And that nylon has the potential to be recycled infinitely, without ever losing its quality.
